Révision du Genre Lonomia Walker [Lep. Attacidae] (1)

Révision du Genre Lonomia Walker [Lep. Attacidae] (1) Summary C. Lemaire: Revision of the genus Lonomia Walker [Lep. Attacidae]. Revision of a neotropical genus of Attacidae, subfam. Hemileucinae. The 26 studied species are included in two subgenera, Lonomia Walker and Periga Walker; 7 only were known before, the last one described by H. Druce in 1886, 16 were published in a preliminary paper (Lemaire, 1972), 3 new species and 3 new subspecies are described in the present one. The classification almost entirely lies on the structure of the male and female genitalia that had remained unstudied and have revealed to have some excellent specific characters. The author gives also some new informations about the distribution, early stages and morphology of the genus. http://www.deepdyve.com/assets/images/DeepDyve-Logo-lg.png Annales de la Société entomologique de France (N S ) Taylor & Francis
