Rapport Entre les Comportements Sexuel et Parental chez Labidura Riparia [Derm. Labiduridae].

Rapport Entre les Comportements Sexuel et Parental chez Labidura Riparia [Derm. Labiduridae]. Summary M. Vancassel: Influence of mating on parental behaviour in the earwig Labidura riparia. The virgin females of Labidura riparia P show a normal vitellogenesis, but their laying is altered and rarely accompaned by normal parental reactions. Mating allows the expression of the complete laying pattern and of the parental cycle. Various experiements show that, at least, two aspects of sexual behaviour are effective. The first, of sensory-motor type intervenes at the moment of the sexual display and acts over a short term. The other, which seems to be linked to the presence of seminal fluid in the spermathecae has a long term effect. http://www.deepdyve.com/assets/images/DeepDyve-Logo-lg.png Annales de la Société entomologique de France (N S ) Taylor & Francis
