SUMMARY M. J. Faucheux: Researches on the tracheal systems of adult Diptera. I. Dicranomya chlorea (Nematocera Limnobiidae). The morphological study of the adult tracheal system of Dicranomya chlorea Mg., Diptera Nematocera, is shown in this note. The system is composed of nine pairs of spiracles, leading into nine pairs of spiracular, tracheae, joined by one pair of lateral trunks. Nine transverse connectives part from the spiracular tracheae and join the dorsal to the lateral trunks on either side. The transverse connectives of the two thoracic spiracles are smaller. The dorsal trunks are joined dorsally by nine anastomoses: one thoracic and eight abdominal. The thoracic anastomose is joined dorsally by the alone cervical anastomose. The lateral trunks are joined by three ventral thoracic anastomoses. It is noteworthy that no dilatation or air sac is visible in this species.
