These memories of the Seventh International Conference of Social Work will remain long with me° Canada's organization was admirable, her hospitality most gracious and generous. As a nation, she may take pride in her work for the world in the execution of this major task in which there was wide participation throughout the land. It is truly work for the world, for I believe that the International Conference of Social Work is a force for great good through which we may persue the paths of peace. Nothing is more conducive to peace than social welfare~ national and international, than friendly inter- change of ideas and understanding~ than the promotion of higher standards of productive living for all peoples. For the countries which have national committees, this biennial Conference is a really national undertaking.
