Simultaneous Determination of Rosuvastatin and Propranolol by HPLC in Pharmaceutical Dosage Form

Simultaneous Determination of Rosuvastatin and Propranolol by HPLC in Pharmaceutical Dosage Form AbstractRosuvatatine calcium and propranolol hydrochloride have been already presented in a combined pharmaceutical preparation for treatment of the patients suffering from hyperchloestrolemia with hypertension disease. Hence, a separating technique should be applied for the determination of both drugs. Chromatographic simultaneous determination has been applied for estimating rosuvastatin calcium and propranolol hydrochloride in the combined form. An isocratic separation was carried out on BDS Hypersil C18 (250×4.6 mm, 5 μm particle size) reversed phase column with a mobile phase containing methanol: acetonitrile: buffer (0.05 M sodium acetate, pH adjusted to 4.0 using acetic acid) (60:35:5; v/v/v). The flow rate was 1 mL/min and UV detection was set at 231 nm. The linear regression analysis of the calibration graphs showed a good linear relationship for both drugs over a concentration range of 5-25 μg/ml. The method was validated according to ICH guidelines. The proposed method has been found to be accurate, reproducible feasible, and specific for simultaneous analysis of both drugs in both bulk and commercial dosage form. http://www.deepdyve.com/assets/images/DeepDyve-Logo-lg.png Analytical Chemistry Letters Taylor & Francis
