Spectrophotometric Methods for Estimation of Atenolol and Amlodipine besylate in Combined Tablet... Abstract: Various UV-spectrophotometric methods has been described for the estimation of amlodipine besylate (AML) and atenolol (ATN) in bulk and tablet dosage forms using 0.02 % (sodium lauryl sulphate) SLSas solvent. The methods are based on absorption ratio, simultaneous equation, derivative spectroscopy, multicomponent mode and area under curve. AML and ATN have absorption maxima at 240 and 225 nm respectively. Beer's law obeyed in concentration range of 5-35 µg/mLfor AML and ATN respectively. The recovery studies from tablet are indicative of accuracy of method and are found within range of 98.78-102.82 % at three different levels of standard additions. Precision studies showed satisfactory results.
