The Women's Therapy Centre Institute has focused on the study and treatment of the phenomenon of social/psychological gender oppression since its inception. This article will first address our history, theory and practice. It will then address our perspective on women's experience with eating and living in their bodies. In the 21st century our work is more relevant and important than ever because of the ever growing, worldwide assault on women, the female body, and the Mother of us all, the Earth. We conclude by discussing our new initiatives to address social oppression of women and their bodies.
