Collecting is the acquisition of particular items, founded on the interest of the collector. The resulting collections are organised, catalogued, and often attractively displayed. They may address any subject, for they depend entirely on the interests of the collector. Sometimes they are completed, as an entire set is acquired, which may launch a new collection in its turn.
