Summary M. Guichard : « In vivo » study of the embryogenesis of Culex pipiens. Comparison with Calliphora erythrocephala. The first part of the present report is devoted to the study of the embryonic development of Culex pipiens L. in vivo. The different stages are described : cleavage of the nuclei in the yolk, gastrulation, extension of germ-band, segmentation and finally, formation of the different larval organs. A comparison is established with the development of Calliphora erythrocephala Meig. in order to show the existing differences and similitudes between the embryogenesis of a Nematocera and that of a Cyclorrhapha.
