Summary Péricart (J.): A study of the vestitum (Germar) group of the genus Gymnaetron(Subgen. Rhinusa) [Col. Curculionidae] A revision of the West-mediterranean representatives of the vestitum group in the genus Gymnaetron (Subgen. Rhinusa) is presented. The study of typical material and other series of that group shows, among six forms anteriorly described, only three really distinct species: Gymnaetron fuentei Pic 1906, G. depressum Von Rottenberg 1871 (syn.: lusitanicum Leonhard 1912, curtirostre Hustache 1944, schaeferi Hoffmann 1958), and G. vestitum (Germar) 1821. These three species are redescribed, and their distribution in the West-mediterranean basin is given: it appears that depressum is broadly spreaded both on the african and european sides (but rare in Europe), and vestitum only on the european side. A neotype is designated for the Germar's species, the typical material of which beeing proved to be lost.
