Études sur les Cicindélidés XIV. Contribution a la Faune du Pakistan [Col. Cicindelidae]

Études sur les Cicindélidés XIV. Contribution a la Faune du Pakistan [Col. Cicindelidae] Summary F. Cassola: Studies on Cicindelids. XIV. Contribution to the Fauna of Pakistan (Coleoptera Cicindelidae). This note enumerates the species of Cicindelidae collected in july 1975 by the author's father, Avv. Mario Cassola, in the surroundings of Karachi and Lahore, Pakistan. It is interesting to point out that the results completely confirm the transitional position of the Pakistan between the palaearctic and the oriental zoogeographical regions, since the species collected in the Karachi area are mainly palaearctic ones, while those collected near Lahore on the Ravi River (a tributary of the Indus River) are all oriental species. The most remarkable records are those of Chaetodera vigintiguttata (Herbst), Lophyra (Spilodia) vittigera (Dejean), Lophyridia angulata (Fabricius), Eugrapha grammophora (Chaudoir), E. cognata (Wiedemann) and Callytron malabaricum (Fleutiaux & Maindron) which appear to be new to Pakistan. http://www.deepdyve.com/assets/images/DeepDyve-Logo-lg.png Annales de la Société entomologique de France (N S ) Taylor & Francis

Abstract

Summary F. Cassola: Studies on Cicindelids. XIV. Contribution to the Fauna of Pakistan (Coleoptera Cicindelidae).
