Un Genre Nouveau D'aphididae du sud de la France [Hom. Aphidoidea] SUMMARY The new aphid described here belong to a new genus, Helosiphon, and occurs on Eryngium campestre L. in southern France. Helosiphon is related to Anuraphis—group of genera and has a transverse head with straight front. Antennae short, of 5 or 6 joints; secondary rhinaria with thick rims on ant. III and occasionnally IV of the apterous and winged viviparous females, on III, IV and V of the apterous male, rarely on III of viviparous females that has no swollen tibiae. Ultimate joint of rostrum long and rather narrow. Mesothoracal furca twice branched. Body hairs short. Abdomen of alatae without dark sclerite. Marginal tubercles very large and flat, present on prothorax and abdominal segments I to IV and VII and situated dorsal to stigmal pori of tergite VII. Spinal tubercles absent. Siphunculi and femora with spinulose imbrications. Siphunculi with small flange and roundly flared apex; porus quite reduced like in Hydaphias C. B. and Iranaphias Remaudière. Cauda short and rounded. http://www.deepdyve.com/assets/images/DeepDyve-Logo-lg.png Annales de la Société entomologique de France (N S ) Taylor & Francis
