V~nen young mothers continue to work after the birth of their children many situations may arise which will hinder the normal growth end development towards emotional maturity of the children and will threaten the stability of the family group despite the extra material comforts which may be provided because of greater economic security. Social workers are familiar with the effects cn personality of a home which deviates from the normal. Such deviant homes arc usually named as those which are broken through death, or because of marital dlsha~mony, but is not a home where botP parents work all day and young children are left in the care of substit- ute parents for long hours also a deviant home? l~ental hygiene principles agree that the function of the home varies with the age of the child.
