Abstract
Summary A species of Xenoplatyura was bred from larvae spinning webs in the urns of the pitcher plant Nepenthes ampullaris in the isle of Penang (Malaysia). The species is described (larva and imagines) as X. beaveri n. sp. Specimens collected on the mainland (Selangor) are thought to belong to a distinct subspecies, X. beaveri chandleri n. subsp. The new taxa are illustrated and their relationships with the other Oriental Xenoplatyura are discussed.
