XVI International Congress of Entomology JAPAN KYOTO FIRST ANNOUNCEMENT The 16th International Congress of Entomology will be held in the ancient capital of Japan, Kyoto, from 3rd to 9th of August, 1980 under the sponsorship of the Science Council of Japan, the Entomological Society of Japan, the Japanese Society of Applied Entomology and Zoology, and the Japan Plant Protection Association. Sessions will be held in the excellent modern facilities of the Kyoto International Conference Hall. Scientiflc Program The tentative program ofthe 16th Congress will include plenary sessions, symposia, regular sessions, poster sessions, film sessions and informai meetings. The Congress will cover the following fields of Entomology: Systematics, Morphology, Physiology, Biochemistry, Ecology and Population Dynamics, Genetics, Developmental Biology, Behavior, Agricultural and Forest Entomology, Toxicology, Pathology, Stored Product lnsects, Medical and Veterinary Ento­ mology, Sericulture, Apiculture, Biological Control, lntegrated Control, Pesticide Development, Management and Regulation, Social lnsects, Acarology and ethers. English will be used in ali sessions and printed materials. Participation Ali participants are required to register for one of the three memberships: full member, associate member and student member. Registration forms will be provided in the Second Announcement. Social and Ladies Programs An interesting social program will be proposed for ali parti­ cipants.
