About the Authors Gary Dorrien teaches at Union Theological Seminary and Columbia University. His many books include Kantian Reason and Hegelian Spirit (Blackwell, 2012), which won the Association of American Publishers’ PROSE Award in 2013, and The New Abolition: W. E. B. Du Bois and the Black Social Gospel (Yale, 2015) which won the Grawemeyer Award in 2017. His most recent book is American Democratic Socialism: History, Politics, Religion, and Theory (Yale, 2021). Andrew Stone Porter is serving a one-y ear appointment (2021–2022) as As- sistant Professor of Theology at Bellarmine University in Louisville, KY. His research interests are both meta-ethical and social-ethical; his doctoral disser- tation considers the ambiguities and possibilities of “interdependence” as an ethical value along lines of race, gender, and capitalism. Andrew has published articles in The Journal of Religious Ethics and The Other Journal. Andrew is a native of Louisville where he lives with his partner Shannon and their three children. Robert McKim is Professor Emeritus of Religion at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. His publications include these books: Religious Ambi- guity and Religious Diversity; On Religious Diversity; and Laudato Si’ and the Environment: Pope Francis’ Green Encyclical, an edited collection.
