His photographs are used in John Wallhausser's article. WILMA DYKEMAN, North Carolina native, lives in Newport, Tennessee. She is best known for her novels The Tall Woman and The Far Family. In addition to novels, she has written several non-fiction books, of which her latest is Explorations. GRACE TONEY EDWARDS is a professor of English and Chairperson of the Appalachian Studies Program and Director of the Highland Summer Conference at Radford University.
