Penguin exhibit at Bourton‐on‐the‐Water Bird Park cause of death. In 1965 therefore supplementary Vitamin A was administered in the form of drops sprinkled on the fish. This was fed to breeding pairs. Each chick was also given 5,000 IU of Vitamin A. Breeding pairs are also given salt pellets (I g NaCl), I capsule of chloramphenicol (250 mg) and I g of the following Vitamin ADB powder containing: Vitamin A 2,400 IU, Vitamin D3 800 IU, Vitamin E 2 mg, Vitamin K3 1-2mg, Vitamin B1 0.6 mg, Vitamin B2 2-4 mg, niacin 7.6 mg, pantothenic acid, 3-2 mg, folic acid 0'2 mg, Vitamin B12 10 mcg, FeSO' 50 mg, CuS04 5 mg, MnSOP20 mg. In view of the improved breeding results of the Humboldt's penguins in 1965, we have grounds for thinking that this diet has had a beneficial effect on breeding.
