More specifically, it investigates how CLMV can successfully mesh itself into the production networks which played a pivotal role in the growth of export-industrial- ization of East Asia. The book is relevant for CLMV policymakers since it contains a wealth of specific and concrete policy advice on how the sub-region can plug into regional production networks as a means of promoting industrialization and growth. It is also a valuable source of knowledge for general readers interested in East Asian production networks and their expansion to less-developed countries. Relative to the original member countries of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN)–i.e., Indonesia, Malaysia, Philippines, Singapore, and Thailand — CLMV are latecomers to the process of industrialization, economic development and growth, and integration into the world economy. The original ASEAN countries have leveraged trade and foreign direct invest- ment to transform themselves from backwaters http://www.deepdyve.com/assets/images/DeepDyve-Logo-lg.png The Singapore Economic Review World Scientific Publishing Company
